Radiant Bride Over 60 Celebrates Marriage || Colleen and David

From our first consultation call, I knew Colleen would be the most radiant, 60+ bride the wedding industry had ever seen. And she was.

I was smitten when I got off the phone with her because she had finally “found the one whom her soul loves” (Song of Solomon 3:4), and his name was David.

Colleen, David, and I chatted on the phone about their upcoming wedding agenda, their overjoyed families, and their post-wedding plans, and the three of us were starry-eyed as we dreamt of their marriage. It was Colleen’s lifelong prayer to find a God-fearing husband, and after many decades of waiting, praying, and delighting in the Lord, God was gracious in granting her the desire of her heart: a husband.

I have known Colleen since I was a girl, growing up in the same small town as her family, and I had always loved her vibrant spirit. She has a sparkle about her, an insatiable thirst for life and adventure, and I always admired her resilient commitment to finding a love for the ages. But this desire never came on the alter of living fiercely.

Colleen’s “life” resume is decorated with exotic travels, higher education, and scores of many professional accolades, and her fun-loving personality has made her the catch of the century. Which, to me, is why she was exceptionally radiant under the display of white satin, lace, and chiffon. Her heart of gold was finally secured with a ring to match - not to mention a gown to impress. After 60+ years of waiting for her prince charming, Colleen explained to me the most important about her wedding was working with Christian wedding vendors who shared her beliefs. “I want a Christian to photograph my wedding,” said Colleen. “You love the Lord, and to me, that is the most important part.”

With a vision for timeless romance, Colleen and David’s wedding was an ode to their faith and a bedrock of shared values. I am so thankful I was able to create a visual narrative of their emotional wedding ceremony, and cannot wait to see their marriage story unfold!
