Modern Wedding Under String Lights At The Treman Center In Ithaca, NY || Lindsey and TJ
With a vision for a fun, beautiful, and laid-back wedding, Lindsey and TJ set out to pull off a modern wedding under string lights at the Treman Center in their hometown of Ithaca, NY.
Now residents of Nashville, TN, they traveled to their stomping grounds of beautiful Upstate NY to say their “I Do’s” and step into marriage as husband and wife.
Lindsey, a truly beautiful soul, didn’t need much to transform into the most radiant bride. She collaborated with Alison Carpenter of The Beauty Barn for a simple, yet sleek makeup and hair design, and she wore a gown from LVD Bridal, a stylish and sustainable wedding boutique in Nashville, TN.
Would you believe me if I told you she went to LVD by herself and spur of the moment, and spontaneously bought her dress on the spot? Yes! She wanted a no-stress, low-key environment, and when she discovered LVD’s wedding boutique, she gave it a whirl and walked out of there with her dress! What a gal!
It was important to Lindsey and TJ to be surrounded by both family and a naturally beautiful location for their special day, which is why they chose The Treman Center. The Treman Center is an elegant barn venue with Tuscan Italianate courtyards only 10 minutes from downtown Ithaca, NY. It is a three-story masterpiece that features four masonic fireplaces, 200-year-old hand-cut stones, an outdoor firepit, and a reflecting pool surrounded by 12-foot-high stone walls.
Best explained as a creative gathering space, The Treman Center features a stunning jungle-like courtyard with climbing ivy, flowering vines, and outdoor café string lights, making it a lush oasis of deep greens, a wellspring of tranquility, and a truly magical place to step into marriage.
The Treman Center also neighbors one of the Finger Lakes’ most scenic parks, Robert H. Treman State Park, elevating it from a unique venue to a truly one-of-a-kind destination. Robert H. Treman State Park is home to the scenic gorge, Enfield Glen, and it features 12 impressive waterfalls, deep green forests, and a stream-feed natural swimming hole. Notably, its 115-foot Lucifer Falls allows onlookers to see a mile-and-a-half down the wooded gorge. This hidden gemstone of Upstate, NY was the perfect location for Lindsey and TJ’s special day.
From the first moment Lindsey and TJ locked eyes on the aisle to the first dance under string lights, it was an emotionally charged, fiercely beautiful day. Surrounded by the most vibrant community, unique venue space, and breathtaking scenery, they said their vows under outdoor café string lights on the courtyard and danced into the night as the stars sprang to life.
Their day was full of laughter, color, and rich excitement, and the cherry on top was a competitive bride vs. groom cornhole toss-off at the end of the night. What a match! Lindsey and TJ were truly the most down-to-earth, adventurous couple (peep their adventures waterfall engagement shoot here!)
I will never stop believing that weddings are the greatest celebrations, and I’m so thankful for the friendship, memories, and art I was able to create at Lindsey and TJ’s special day. It is such a gift to wear the title of storyteller, creating love stories for my couples, celebrating God’s gift of marriage, and pointing to the ultimate purpose of humanity: to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
