Historic Market St. Engagement Session in Corning, NY || Morgan & Chad
It was a beautiful fall afternoon on Historic Market St. in Corning, NY during Morgan and Chad’s engagement session.
Morgan and Chad envisioned a sexy, yet timeless and classy photoshoot for their engagement photos and Market St., consisting of five blocks of idyllic, 19th century Victorian buildings, was just the location. Dressed to kill in a black suit and knockout, black silk dress, these two gave a whole new meaning to the word fire. 👀
Morgan and Chad met each other in high school and dated for some time before they parted ways in college. Fast forward a few years, Morgan and Chad ran into each other at an event, and before you know it, they had rekindled a beautiful friendship that soon grew into a relationship. While exploring Washington, DC in December of 2021, Chad got down on one knee with the biggest Christmas surprise of all– a holiday proposal! (Don’t sleep on this technique, ya’ll… peep my surprisal holiday proposal guide here!) They’ve now been together a total of 5 years, and they are a true testament of how great friendship can blossom into even greater love stories.
With the beauty and history of DC now woven into the DNA of their relationship, Morgan and Chad decided to do their engagement session at an equally charming and historic location: Market St. in Corning, NY! With the falling leaves and sun on their backs, these two scored the most beautiful fall afternoon as they wandered through the beautiful brick streets, brightly colored trees, and old, historic storefronts.
Market St. in Corning, NY is known for its family-friendly events and activities year round. Its 19th century charm brings travelers of all kinds to the area to enjoy a relaxing evening with their family and friends. Market St., also known as the Gaffer District, is full of small businesses, beautiful streetscapes, and delicious restaurants that make it a one-of-a-kind location. With seasonal events like Crystal City Christmas and Glass Fest, Market St. has been known to shut down its street to foster community and celebrate arts, culture, and diversity. Its history and events are not the only reason to visit… the food also keeps visitors coming back for more. Eclectic restaurants like Hand + Foot, The Cellar, and The Quincy Exchange are just a few of some staple restaurants on this historic street. Breweries and bars also line Market St. to give locals and tourists the opportunity to stop for a refreshing beverage while watching others roam the street.
After running across crosswalks, marveling at the charming, Victorian buildings, and letting the wind and falling leaves kiss their cheeks, Morgan and Chad stopped at one of their favorite restaurants, Hand + Foot. The restaurant, named after a card game played through three generations of their family, opened in 2014. Hand + Foot prides themselves on a community-family relationship with every guest, and in Morgan’s words, “just has a vibe.” Within the restaurant you’ll find restored brick, beautiful paintings, and community seating for their guests. Their ultimate goal? Creating a space for their guests to come, escape from technology, and enjoy friends, family, and a good ‘ole card game.
During their stop at Hand + Foot, we took full advantage of the full bar (#fiiiiiire) and Morgan and Chad took the opportunity to enjoy a glass of champagne together. They admired the art and beauty of the restaurant, soaking up its cozy ambiance, and I flitted about as discreetly as possible in their admittedly small space. 👀Watching them together, laid back, comfortable, yet magnetic, you could see their friendship-turned-romance shine so powerfully.
