Fall Wedding Color Palette at The Inn at Taughannock Falls || Maggie and Hade

Is it just me, or is it every little girl’s dream to be married in autumn’s natural beauty with a gorgeous fall wedding color palette?

Picture this: shades of marigold on sweeping ginkgo trees, bridesmaids and groomsmen donned in earthy terracottas, and a quiet earth cloaked in fallen leaves. That’s exactly what Maggie and Hade scored at their stunning October wedding at the Inn at Taughannock Falls.

With a high of 65, the scene at Maggie and Hade’s fall wedding was the epitome of warmth. The earth was alive with delicious amber, burnt orange, and a deep, sweeping burgundy, and between the crisp autumn air, the fragrant breeze of changing seasons, and the historical charm of the Inn, Maggie and Hade landed a knockout of a day.

Upstate New York is a natural masterpiece in October, but Maggie and Hade added thoughtful accents to their fall wedding color palette to give it even more allure.

The inclusion of ferns rather than an arbor added a pop of vibrance to their otherwise neutral tones, creating a soothing, nature-inspired aesthetic. Between the greenery of the ferns, the bronzy-red of the rhododendron, the intensity of the burning bushes, and the jewel blue sky, Maggie and Hade’s fall wedding color palette was a lavish tapestry of autumn hues. The versatile shrubs and landscape design of the Inn only served to enhance their sweet mosaic of colors.

They worked with a team of wedding vendors in Upstate NY who absolutely crushed their vision for a stunning October wedding. This featured citrus-colored bridesmaids’ bouquets from Arnold’s Flower Shop, Maggie’s utterly feminine wedding dress from Dress 2 Impress, a stunning bridal updo by The Beauty Barn, and fun reception music provided by Paradise Entertainment.

An outdoors wedding suited Maggie and Hade so well, seeing as they share a deep love of traveling, adventuring, and exploring the natural world around them.

They have gypsy souls and a deep sense of wanderlust, and together have shared so many trips globetrotting and making new memories. Hade actually plays and travels with a rugby league, and Maggie tags along, radiating with her effortless smile and contagious joy. Described by my associate shooter, Abby: “Maggie and Hade have big-time golden retriever energy.” 😂 This comment suits them so well, especially as they are massive dog lovers.

Maggie and Hade brought their pups, Koda (Great Dane mix) and Mozzie (hound mix), along to their Adventurous Engagement Shoot at Watkins Glen State Park in Upstate NY. Then Koda and Mozzie debuted in Maggie and Hade’s wedding as flower girl and ring bearer. 😆 Being that the Inn is a pet friendly wedding venue, this made for the absolute cutest processional.

While one could opt to have their ceremony at the small waterfalls next to the entrance of Taughannock Falls State Park (as Anna and Matt did at their Elegant Microwedding at the Falls), Maggie and Hade chose to have their ceremony in the “garden” area at the Inn, a well-manicured one-acre plot with the charm of the Inn in the background and the grandeur of Cayuga Lake in the foreground. In October, this area is a kaleidoscope of color, and the rugged bluffs that hug Cayuga Lake were threaded with gold, like embers glowing in a fire. The lake shone with a deep sapphire-blue, packing Maggie and Hade’s fall wedding color palette with a punch.

The Inn at Taughannock truly was such a great fit for their fall wedding.

Being only 9 miles from Ithaca, New York and an icon in the Finger Lakes region, it is nestled into the shoreline of picturesque Cayuga Lake and boasts a Victorian estate with five buildings over 12 acres of sprawling grounds. It has become a premiere destination wedding venue in Upstate NY, accommodating up to 300 wedding guests.

The Inn has 24 vintage guest rooms to accommodate out-of-state visitors and travelers, creating a luxurious wedding weekend experience for everyone; this includes the Victoria Inn, a 410-square-foot suite with lake-view rooms, private balconies, and oversized windows with natural light, as well as the Hillside Residence with the Le Grande Suite, a private luxury lake house with panoramic views of Cayuga Lake.

Accommodations, however, aren’t the only advantage to a fall wedding at the Inn.

They offer packages with event planners and on-site coordinators to ensure seamless and stress-free weddings, on-site catering with tasty hors d'oeuvres, plated meals, late-night bites, and local Finger Lakes wines, and even fireworks! (Talk about an epic ending to a wedding… check out Nicolette and Sean’s timeless wedding, which did end in fireworks at the Inn!! SO FUN!!) Of course there is also the option to host your bridal shower, engagement party, and rehearsal dinner there, truly making it a timeless, one-stop-shop for a memorable wedding weekend.

The biggest perk of all is The Inn at Taughannock’s location! It is located at the gateway of the Cayuga Wine Trail, a vibrant wine region with 28 wineries, and it’s tucked next to Taughannock Falls State Park, boasting one of the tallest waterfalls in the country! As you can imagine, the falls are a stunning backdrop for wedding and engagement photos (peep Jordan and Casey’s Taughannock Falls Engagement Shoot here!) It also leaves no shortage of fun outdoor activities for your wedding guests!

I asked Maggie and Hade why they chose to do their wedding at the Inn at Taughannock…

Maggie said, “Hade and I travel to Upstate New York every fall for a long weekend to hike, relax, and visit the wineries. On our very first trip, we walked the gorge trail to Taughannock Falls and noticed the Inn on our way out… we sort of joked about how it’d be cool to get married there one day. When we got engaged, it was a no-brainer where we wanted to have it.” 😊

The couple hold one another closely as they share their first dance together.

There was so much natural beauty that day, but without a doubt, the most radiant of all was Maggie.

She wore Maggie Sottero’s Baxley Gown, which transformed her figure into that of a goddess, and she was a total knockout in the backless, luxurious crepe. Detailed with lace motifs, a lined lace bodice, and beaded spaghetti straps, she paired the gown with a fingertip-length veil and a faux fur shawl, and she looked like a total dream.

Maggie and Hade’s day ended with an intimate, candlelit reception for their 60 guests in the Inn’s waterfront restaurant, overlooking the night-kissed Cayuga Lake, and Maggie and Hade were able to sneak away for a private dance under the moonlight.

The moon cast a warm glow over the shadowy water, and together they were able to savor all of the special moments from their magical day. It was truly a wedding saturated with so much beauty, even beyond that of their fall wedding color palette, and it gave their marriage a jumpstart with rich color, delicious warmth, and sweet emotion.

I’m so thrilled for Maggie and Hade as they embark on this beautiful new journey as husband and wife, and even more thrilled as I also learned that they’re expecting their first baby close to their one year anniversary.

What a beautiful gift, commemorating one year of marriage with this precious bundle of joy. So many congrats to Maggie and Hade, and best of all, to their growing family! ❤️
